Most veunes will require any DJs, artists or any kind of performer to have Public Liability Insurance. This is there to cover the cost of any legal action and compensation claims that could be made against their business if a third party is injured or their property suffers damage while the performer is working at their home or business property. If the performer is bringing thier own equipment, the venue will usually require everything to be tested for electrical safety according to the Electrical Safety in the Workplace Regulations of 1989. Also to travel to a venue for the purpose of work, every performer must make sure they have the correct insurance policy for their car. Their policy must state that their vehicle can be used in connection with their business or profession. Having the wrong insurance cover could void their insurance and potentially jeapordise your event!
